Introduction

Impact English is committed to protecting the privacy and personal data of our students and clients. We collect and process personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) 2018. This Privacy Notice outlines how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal data.

For the personal data collected through our website’s English language learning questionnaire, our lawful basis for processing is your consent. We obtain this consent implicitly when you voluntarily submit the questionnaire after being informed about our data collection practices (this can be seen via the link to our Privacy Policy near the form). From our Website Questionnaire: When you complete our English language learning questionnaire, we may collect the following personal data:

  • Identification Data: Your Name.
  • Professional/Learner Role: Your Role (please clarify within your internal understanding what this refers to – e.g., professional role, student status).
  • Origin Data: Your Country of origin.
  • Language Proficiency: Your self-declared current level of English proficiency (Native, Advanced, Upper Intermediate, Intermediate, Beginner).
  • English Usage Frequency: How often you use English (Never, Rarely, Often, Very frequently).
  • Satisfaction and Desire for Improvement: Your response to “Are you happy with your level?” and “Do you want to improve your English skills?”.
  • Preferred Lesson Format: The type of lesson you would most like to attend (1-to-1, Group lessons – (Up to 6 people), Both).
  • Material Preferences: The kind of materials that interest you (Discuss business topics, Discuss articles from e.g. magazines, Discuss videos, Other / your choice).
  • Specific Topic Interests: The topics that interest you (Sales, Negotiation, Persuasion, Small Talk, Soft skills, Interview skills, General conversation).
  • Ambassador Interest: Your response to whether you are interested in being an ambassador for Impact English.
  • Other Languages Spoken: The other languages you speak.
  • Additional Information: Any information you choose to share in the “Comments” section.

How We Use Your Data

We use your personal data for the following purposes:

  • Providing English language teaching services.
  • Communicating with you about your lessons, schedule, and progress.
  • Processing payments and issuing invoices.
  • Sending you relevant updates and marketing materials (with your consent).

We use the personal data collected through our English language learning questionnaire for the following purposes:

  • To Understand Your Needs: To analyse your current English proficiency, learning goals, and preferences to better understand your requirements.
  • To Tailor Our Services: To help us recommend suitable lessons, learning plans, and materials that align with your interests and goals.
  • To Contact You: To respond to your enquiry and provide you with information about our English language courses and services.
  • To Understand Learning Preferences: To understand your preferred lesson format and material interests.
  • For Potential Ambassador Recruitment: To identify individuals who may be interested in becoming ambassadors for Impact English.
  • To Improve Our Services: To analyse the responses to improve our course offerings and the questionnaire itself.

Data Sharing
We may share your personal data with the following third parties:

  • Stripe: Our secure payment processor for handling payments.

Zoom is the platform used for online lessons. We do not record and store the lessons.

We will never sell your data to third parties.

International Data Transfers

We may transfer your collected data to storage outside the European Economic Area (EEA). It may be processed outside the EEA to fulfil your order and deal with payment.

Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data from unauthorized access, loss, or alteration. These measures include:

Data Retention

Personal data collected through our English language learning questionnaire will be retained for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, including responding to your enquiries, providing you with information about our services, and for a reasonable period thereafter in case of further inquiries. For potential ambassadors, we will retain their interest for a reasonable period for recruitment purposes. You can request the deletion of your data at any time by contacting us. We may also retain data for longer if required by law or for legitimate business purposes, such as record-keeping.
